It’s a very well-known fact that FDA has waged a war on Kratom and is pushing the people against it. Even if you go through what your neighbors know about Kratom, they will only know things that the local media projects because they are all unaware of the truth about Kratom. Obviously, this is the reason that we are putting efforts to share and affect a change among every other community about the war that FDA has waged against Kratom.
One of the former staff from Congress Ms. Emily Ellsworth proposed some effective ways of making a difference with the representatives on our important issues.
What Is Important?
The most powerful thing in the universe is Communication. With this tool, any type of complexity could be overcome. A famous saying proclaims “Pen is mightier than a sword”. It is cent percent true since pen has the power which a sword doesn’t have. A pen can communicate something that’s on a person’s mind to every other people in this world. Sharing an idea plays a crucial role in bringing up things that we want to happen. There are many ways of communication but words are the most powerful tool of communication that has the capability of starting a revolution.
When coming to Kratom war, there are some important tips that the Kratom community members should keep in their mind. There are a lot of things that work well and a lot of things that don’t. Emily worked for Congress for 6 years and she shared those leanings with everyone.
The Thing with Social Media
She says that Social Media doesn’t really work. She feels that writing on Twitter or Facebook is ineffective. She doesn’t even take a look at those comments except the harassing ones. We know the world is changing but there are people even now in office who doesn’t have the habit of using social media. Some of them didn’t grow up in such situations. There is a possibility that it may change in the forthcoming years.
Though we come across many positive vibes coming across Twitter and Facebook these days, Emily’s tweet just surprises us. But, it is always a great place to discuss the issue and can create a productive result.
Writing Letters
The next point she insisted was to go for letters. “Writing a letter to the district office holds well than sending emails,” she says. Though sending email is an effective way of communication, she suggests going for written letters because emails in sheer quantity might be overwhelming. Hence, go for letters. That is the way the old-fashioned method. We write what we want to express and send it to them. The point of stress she’s creating is not on the way of communication, but ‘where’ we are sending is what really matters. When we send to the local state office, it becomes easier to communicate with our local representative. It has a higher chance when we do it this way. This paperwork will have a higher weight-age when taken to D.C. with thousands of other papers.
Now, again there lies a problem with proper reachability of the letter to the concerned person. More than social media we can take letters as a great format. Since there is no guarantee that it will reach the local representative correctly, we are forced to look out for next redundancy. What can we do to stop these false accusations and the Kratom war?
Calling On Phone
We can use the phone to reach out to local representatives. A phone becomes a great tool when it comes to drawing attention. She suggests this idea by sharing her experience they faced that shook up the whole office. We should also be polite in speaking to them. Have a timeline for the phone calls. On a consistent basis, making a call every week can help. So, repeated calls to the same staffer can create an impact that we expect.
What should we convey on the phone?
Update them the scientific pieces of evidence and the things that the Kratom community is doing. Convey them the valuable information about Kratom that has been discovered may be shared with them so that they convey all those details to the representative. They’ll get used to the calls and a communication bridge will be developed between us and them. Do it consistently so that when this issue becomes a national headline, we’ll be the first to penetrate into their mind.
Inference
Educating these staffers is the only way we can fight the Kratom war against the government. If we enlighten these staffers, they can be of some support when fighting the cause. The only medium we can expect to transfer the message to the Senator is this staffer. And we need not worry about these people because they will be working for our cause alone.
The way we convey our message is also important. We should stress on the key facts so that they don’t forget those important points when delivering to the representative. As one community we should band together and call Washington. So, there should be enough calls to flood their office and it shouldn’t give them a chance to ignore.
All these tips and tricks Emily suggested are worthy. If we follow her words and give out the best shot, it will surely make an impact. This, in turn, would be more helpful in fighting for this cause. So, it’s time to convert our thoughts to words and write it to our representatives. Developing a relationship with the staffers is one best way of increasing the chances of uplifting the Kratom ban.
