The reason for Kratom to be in America
Though Kratom plants are abundantly found in Southeast Asia, we should surely know where it originated actually. So, we’ll sail across the history of its discovery.
During the 19th century, the East India Trading Company was an organization that had been trading across the globe. Whichever product you try to trade in those days, they will be shipped only by this organization. Most of them around the world knew them as their arms were wide and covered maximum part of the world known.
A botanist was working with the East India Trading Company was the first person to discover Kratom outside. Another person who doesn’t belong to that region found that the Kratom leaves were boiled in water and then taken as a liquid by the natives. Very curious to know its nature he was the one who underwent the ritual and experienced it himself. He was the very first person to inform the world about Kratom.
Another person who found the people taking the extract of those leaves and expected a medical breakthrough with those plants. He collected the leaves and submitted it to the Edinburgh University for study purpose. He also described the native people and how they consume it. The term ‘Mitragynine’ was coined in 1921 from his study on alkaloids. It was after that when Kratom started moving downhill.
- In 1930, Kratom’s psychoactive properties were studied and the medicinal uses were proposed.
- In 1940, the research continues with the discovery of three more alkaloids.
- In 1943, Kratom was banned by Thai.
- In 1975, more of the traditional and medicinal values of Kratom was again delivered.
- In 2003, Mitragynine was banned by Malaysia the ban on leaves of the plant was extended for the next year.
- In 2005, Kratom was banned by Australia.

Kratom is now legal in our government, but our fight is to make it legal across all the countries.
- A report with a bunch of negative points has been shared by the FDA (February 2018)
- Kratom has been connected with many deaths by FDA (February 2018)
- The FDA produced vendors who cooked up that salmonella is present in their Kratom (July 2018)
Various organizations and governments are trying to wage a war on Kratom and so started a campaign against Kratom. FDA declared Kratom as harmful and is poisoned with Salmonella along with Centre for Disease Control.
A number of false reports and comments started spreading among the public because of the statement was given by the FDA. But, the DEA supported the cause by exposing the truth that Kratom is not the cause for those deaths. Though some accusations were true, most of them involved other factors that become the reason for death.
In July 2018, we found a tweet posted by DEA stating that Kratom alters the mind and it causes psychotic effects when they are consumed. It was actually their re-tweet on an article posted by a news channel. There is a hidden answer for the first question here. But, we came across another article which grabbed our attention more than this. But, the question is whether DEA agrees with NIDA. When FDA is so sure about accusing Kratom of many deaths and cause for fatality, we question whether they have solid evidence for that. Actually, FDA is not ready to disclose the fact that those deceased person’s body had other substances in it. But, the NIDA announced that the allegations on Kratom that it is the reason for deaths is not true. They corrected the FDA’s statement by disagreeing to it. They also made it clear that those deaths were because of the adulteration or contamination of Kratom. They also insisted that it is the duty of Americans to remove those adulterated products from the market and prove the true image of Kratom.
There are many dimensions Kratom can be looked from. There is a lot to learn and think about it. One point that the FDA proposed is to test the Kratom before selling to the customer. It is obviously true. It should be tested for everyone to know the truth behind Kratom.
The reality behind Kratom can be understood only after experiencing it. It has a lot of traditional and medicinal values. So, for a good cause, it is always the duty of the Kratom community members to fight against the ban posed on Kratom.
As we say always, seek the SCIENCE!
